Oii kaya nya orang ni,
kerja apa ya dia sebelum ni,
tak kan duit gaji dia tak guna langsung.
"I donate (or alms) RM44 million of my money to Yayasan Islam Perlis," said former Perlis Menteri Besar and the super-rich, Datuk Seri Shahidan Kassim.
WOW!!! Lot of money man.. where the money come from? From the beginning?... Anymore?
Shahidan is the one out of 30 largest shareholders in MALGAMATED INDUSTRIAL STEEL BERHAD. As per records of Depositors as at 15 October 2004, he own 517,500 shares.
TODAY statement:
"I donated RM44 million to the Perlis Islamic Foundation (PIF) to implement its projects. I endowed all my shares in Teknologi Tenaga Perlis Consortium Sdn Bhd (TTPC) for the past 10 years.
"The donation was supposed to be more than RM85 million, but after deducting the loan for investment in the independent energy provider, the nett amount donated was RM44 million."
Shahidan said he had to come out with the statement as there were certain quarters who questioned the money given to PIF.
When asked whether he had felt a sense of loss for donating so much, the former menteri besar said he had never felt that way as he had been a donor even before he held a state government post.
For example, he said he had never touched the annual payment of RM800,000 for renting out his personal premises to Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP), because the money was given to the Public Works Department for the construction of new mosques.
Prior to his resignation as Menteri Besar, he had also donated RM100,000 to an educational fund, especially to help eligible students further their studies at university.
