Resolusi IMPO di Bangkok
Hujung minggu selesai saja sidang parlimen yang membawa satu kekesalan yang amat sangat kepada kami dari Pakatan kerana gagal memusnahkan impian besar PM dan RM dalam mengendalikan kewajaran pemerintahan negara dengan hanya 3 undi, ana ditugaskan oleh AJK AFPPD Malaysia untuk mewakili negara kepersidangan Antara Bangsa di Kota Bangkok dari 18 hingga 21 Disember yang lalu.
Sempat bertemu dengan ramai ahli parlimen dari asia, Jepun, Asia Tengah dan Kepulauan Ciribean dan Amerika Latin mamberikan satu ruang kesempatan untuk mengetahui suasana politik mereka terutama didalam pengendalian hal-hal perubatan dan kesihatan.
Sidang 2 hari yang banyak menyentuh mengenai masalah kesihatan yang muncul terutama setelah berlaku perubahan cuaca yang tidak menentu sekarang ini banyak menjejaskan manusia baik di Timur maupun di Barat.
Dibawah ini ana lampirkan resolusi menyeshuarat yang disepakati bersama untuk diedarkan kepada pihak terbabit agar dapat sama-sama menjadikan apa yang berlaku suatu iktibar untuk diambil jalan mengatasi apa yang boleh , walaupun didalam persidangan di Copenhagen gagal mencapai kata sepakat mengenai carbon credit dan perubatan iklim yang sama-sama dirasai oleh semua negara, masing-masing nak menyinsing lengan menegakkan hak negara masing-masing deni untuk survival dan ekonomi. Maknanya demi ekonomi, maka masalah pemcemaran dan gas rumah hijau letak nombor dua dan selepas itu sama-samalah kita hadapati apa yang berlaku dan boleh dilihat dinegara Barat hari ini, suasana salji melampau yang melanda mereka kerana kesan perubahan iklim yang puncanya adalah daripada kerakusan tangan manusia sendiri. Negara maju salahkan negara membangun dan membangun salahkan negara maju.

We medical parliamentarian from 17 counteries in Asia, Arfica, Central Asia, The American and Carribean and the Pacific , meeting in Bangkok on 19 -20 December 2009 under the auspices of the International Medical Parliamentarians Organization (IMPO), the Asian Forum of Parliamentarians on Population and developtmen (AFFPD) , United nation Fund For Populatioin Activities ( UNFPA) and the Japanese Government;
Recognizing the fact that our respective countries are facing an accelerated population growth and ageing as well as a triple burden of new and existing infections yhat may treaten social stability and cohesion , and unprecedented epidemic of noncommunicable diseases and widelyspread and avoidable injuries among our populations.
Further recognizing that the important health gains, achieved by the public health sectors in our respective countries over the last 20 years, are being eroded by the current financial and economic crises.
Concerned over the real and projected negative impact of climate change on the health status of our peoples.
Concious of a particular contribution that medical parliamentarians throughtout the world can and should make toward protecting and improving peoples’ health.
Confident that such a contribution can only be made in partnerships with national health services and international organization working in the public health area.
Dedicate ourselves to provide all possible support in the implementation of all health related issues of the International Conference on Population and Development ( ICPD) and Mellenium Development Goals ( MDGs).
Consider it important to keep the issues of maternal health , family planning, adollesence, reproductive health, HIV/ AIDS , harm reduction and trafficking on the national health agenda .
Call open our respective government to increase or at least sustain the level of public health funding that existed before the current financial and economic crises, failure to do so may result in negative long term consequences for public health , including all the above issues.
Call upon the International Medacal Parliamentarians’ Organization to intensify its collaboration with national parliaments, regional interparliamentary assembly and international organizations working in public health , in particular with WHO and UNFPA.
Call upon International Medical Parliamentarians’ Organization to develop a series of joint activities with UNFPA and WHO for parliamentarians with medical background, which would help them in their legislative work and which would include, but not be limited to the following :
• Orientation and awareness-raising over internationally recognized public health priorities;
• An electronic database , being developed by WHO, accessible for medical parliamentarians worldwide ( with comparative analysis of the existing national health legislation).
• A general annual or bi-annual meeting of medical parliamentarians under the auspices of IMPO , which would allow them to discuss global public health priorities as well as ways and means to translate these priorities into legislative initiatives.
Call upon the development aid agencies to provide financial assistance for the implementation of the above-mentioned activities among IMPO, UNFPA, and WHO.
Express special gratitude to the Government of Japan for it financial assistance provided so far for the activities of the International Medacal Parliamentarians’ Organization.
